November Monthly Wrap-Up // holiday season is here & not participating in nanowrimo

November went by soooo fast. This entire year went by soooo fast. I can’t believe it’s already December… I’m excited for Christmas, of course and I already have most of the decorations up but gosh. Why can’t time just stop and slow down so I can catch my breath.

Books Read:

The Brilliant Death by Amy Rose Capetta // 4.5 Stars. I got this book sent to me since I participated in the blog tour. I really enjoyed this one.

Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse // 3.5 Stars. I read this for my history class. Most every time I picked it up I started getting tired so it took me a while to finish but it was good and made me think.

December TBR:

These are the most important books for me to finish this month. I started all of them so far. One of them is for school and another is a Netgalley book for review. I’ve been trying to set a goal for myself to read every day, no matter how much. Even if it’s just one or two chapters.

Blog Posts:

October K-Pop Comeback Reviews #1 // the rose, ikon, nct 127, monsta x, kim donghun & ateez

October K-Pop Comeback Reviews #2 // fromis_9, iu, weki meki, iz*one, april & jeong eun ji

A Discussion on Thanksgiving // my thoughts on the national holiday that celebrates the genocide of my ancestors

November K-Pop Comeback Reviews #1 // exo, twice, wanna one, jennie, btob, d-crunch, exid, gugudan & nu’est w

Most Popular Post:

No surprise that my most popular post was a discussion post! Last-minute on the day before Thanksgiving I decided to write about the history of the holiday and how it affects me as a Native American. A lot of people seemed to take my post to heart and it made me feel proud of who I am and where I come from. Thank you all for the support ❤

The Blog:

The only blog posts I’ve been writing lately are my reviews of K-Pop comebacks. I love writing these because they’re simple and easy and although they can be really long and take a while to put together, I find new artists each month so it’s a lot of fun. Make sure to let me know if there’s any other music, TV shows, or movies you’d like me to check out and possibly write a review for. I’m open to suggestions 🙂

Also I just switched over to the new WordPress editor midway through writing this post. I have no idea what I’m doing so the formatting might end up weird. We’ll see what happens.

Personal Life:

Not much has been happening besides school for me. I’m almost done with my World History class and then I just have English and German to finish and I’ll be a High School graduate! I’m excited to finally finish but then I’ll have to study for my AP exams so that I can take them in the Spring.

I also applied for a volunteering position at my local library. They don’t have any openings for adults (I’m 18), but since I’m still technically a student until I graduate sometime early next year they said that I can attend their orientation in January and volunteer until I graduate. I also applied for a position at Barnes & Noble. I haven’t talked about it anywhere because I don’t want to jinx it or get my hopes up but yeah I’m excited.

I voted early in the month on voting day. This was the first year I was able to vote and I never really cared about politics and voting until… well… Trump happened so now I feel an obligation to vote haha. It made me feel good.

Writing:

awkward

Be completely honest, did you think I’d actually write something this month?

Funny enough, I had faith in myself. I did write about 100 words in These Memories Shall Burn and I read through some of We’re All Beautiful. I do want to start revisions on We’re All Beautiful but I want to first plan out the entire book neatly so I can follow a plan and finish the book lol.

What I Watched:

I didn’t watch many actual TV shows. However, my family did watch a lot of UFC matches, Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, and random compilations on YouTube.

We also watched Crazy Rich Asians. I’m so happy I finally got to see it. I loved every moment. There was a few things that could have been done better or should have been added but overall it was a great movie.

What I Listened To:

KPOPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

That’s literally all I listened to this month, no surprise there. Mostly I listened to EXO‘s new album on repeat and fell in love with Lay’s solo stuff. Here’s some of my favorites I think you should check out:

I just want to talk about Chen’s “I can’t believe” at the beginning and Sehun getting LINES  F I N A L L Y. I am also salty over this being their last comeback before Xiumin has to enlist in the military and he got ONE line where his voice was edited to sound like a demon🙃

I never gave Lay much attention in EXO videos which I feel ashamed for because he’s such a great human being?? He’s quiet but he’s SO hard-working, kind, and humble. I’ve been watching a lot of the interviews he did while promoting his new album in America and his English is really good. I just fell in love with him this month, basically. The above video is in English and the visuals are amazing so please check it out!

I wasn’t sure how to feel about Jennie already getting a solo debut since Blackpink hasn’t been around that long but I like the song more than I thought I would. I’m proud of her and hope the rest of the girls also get this solo treatment.

HERE is my playlist for November! It was hard to make this playlist because although I liked a lot of songs this month it was hard to keep the playlist a reasonable size haha.

What’s Happening in December:

  • A.C.E concert! As of the time I’m writing this post, there’s only 9 days left until I see them!! I’m so excited but it doesn’t feel like it’s actually going to happen lol.
  • Get a job (hopefully)
  • CHRISTMASSSSS🎄
  • GOT7 (holiday-themed!) and Day6 comeback
  • i felt like there was more but i forgot oops.

What was your November like? Are you ready for the holidays? Do you have any holiday songs/shows/movies/etc. I should check out? Let me know!
