I was in such a weird mood all of August, about blogging and school and life, but I kept myself busy by doing school, reading more for fun, and trying to do more fun things. I’ll talk about everything else here in the wrap up 🙂
Blood Will Out by Jo Treggiari // 1.5 Stars. This book disgusted me. It was just… not my cup of tea.
To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han // 4.5 Stars. I absolutely adored this book! I read it in prep for the movie.
Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan // I have roughly 50 pages left in this book so I’ll be finishing it soon. It’s crazy and funny and I love it.
The Benefits of Being an Octopus by Ann Braden // This is a NetGalley copy. I read 3% into the book but I was too distracted by Crazy Rich Asians to read any more haha. It has a poor protagonist which is something not seen often. I have a feeling I’m going to love it.
The Last Wish of Sasha Cade by Cheyanne Young // The only book I’ve ever gotten accepted for on Edelweiss. Honestly forgot what it’s even about.
Hearts Unbroken by Cynthia Leitich Smith // I am SO excited for this one! A blogger friend notified me of this book on NetGalley because it has a Native American protagonist and just!! This is SO rare!!
I want to try and read as much as possible this month and get back into the groove so once I finish the last of my review copies (the books above minus CRA xD) then I’ll be able to read more books for fun!
Most Popular Post:
My 1,000 Follower Q&A post was the most popular of the month at a staggering 47 likes and 22 comments (realistically, 11 since about half are my replies xD). I loved making this post and answering the questions y’all sent to me. The fact that over 1,000 people decided to follow my blog still stuns me to this day.
I only wrote 4 posts this month which is the average I’ve been doing lately. I’m not too happy with this number considering the fact that I’m planning on writing a wide range of posts covering books, music, lifestyle, etc. every month. But, I’m also not worried about it because I’m not stressing myself out to write posts like I used to.
I also didn’t blog hop like… at all. This makes me sad cause I’ve felt so disconnected from the book community the last few months due to not reading as much as I used to but it’s also refreshing?
As y’all know, I’ve already changed my social medias to match my rebranding but my blog hasn’t been changed yet. It will happen eventually but this is a transitioning phase so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Uh… nothing? I have TERRIBLE memory. OH!!! It’s literally in the title hahaha. I got my Driver’s License! I can *technically* drive places on my own but my parents don’t want me to drive around without somebody in the car with me which is totally understandable since I have only been in front of the wheel for a week before I got my actual license. The test for the Florida driver’s license is SUPER easy. I think it’s the reason there are so many bad drivers here to be honest haha.
It was also my sister and dad’s birthday. We went to the beach and got some yummy sushi (some of the best I’ve ever eaten) and it was fun. I played beach volleyball with my mom and read TATBILB on the beach so it was nice and relaxing.
Besides that, I’ve been working on school like usual. I’m nearly done with my Web Design class and I’m on the second unit of my AP World History class. It’s not hard, but it required a lot of reading and taking notes.
There is actually nothing to update you with here besides the fact that towards the end of August I got the urge to write again. I used that motivation to write a blog post, but I still feel like I want to start writing again and it just… it feels so good.
The last month or two I’ve been questioning EVERYTHING. My entire life I’ve wanted to become a writer and then the last few months I felt like it wasn’t something I wanted to do anymore which made me feel really anxious because I’ve dedicated so much over the years to this (ie: this entire blog) and my entire family kinda has come to expect me to become an author one day so – I was overall just freaking out a lot and having an identity crisis.
BUT. I might actually dedicate some time to writing this month??? It feels exciting to start up again and I hope to have new stuff to show you once the end of the month rolls around 🙂
What I Watched:
I watched LOADS of movies. I’ll list all of the ones I remember: Skyscraper, Infinity War (again), To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, Incident in a Ghostland, The Meg, and more I can’t remember.
As far as TV shows go, I made it to season 10 of Friends with my family. We also started watching Lucifer and Castle Rock on Hulu. By myself I started the K-Drama While You Were Sleeping. I keep forgetting that I started it so I’m only one episode in haha. All of these shows are really good so far!
What I Listened To:
Oh there were so many great releases this month! There are also some releases I still need to listen to (mostly from american artists such as ariana grande and troye sivan).
But by far one of my favorite releases of the month was ‘Killing Me’ by iKon. Ever since ‘Love Scenerio’ they’ve been getting loads of new fans (me included) and with this comeback they’re getting even more! I’m so happy they’re getting recognized more because they definitely deserve it.
I don’t have a bias yet but I love Bobby, BI, and Junhoe a lot. I also want to mention the group SF9 – I’ve been an occasional listener of theirs for a little while now and they came back with a song called ‘Now or Never’ and now they’re finally getting a lot of recognition for it (finally!) and I’m just so proud of them.
I also have a playlist of songs I loved in August you can check out here.
What’s Happening in September:
- got7 comeback!! i’m so psyched. the teasers have gotten me hyped
- going to visit washington dc and see the smithsonian 😀
- pumpkin spice drinks are now available at starbucks and my heart is content
Did you have a good August? Watch any good movies or go anywhere interesting? Let me know!
