You probably woke up, made yourself a cup of coffee (or tea – i won’t judge your choice of morning beverage), logged onto your computer and decided to click on this post in your inbox for some light reading – joke’s on you because this post isn’t going to be short at all. Also, since I’m doing so many awards in one post, I won’t be tagging anyone due to laziness and not wanting to make this post any longer than it needs to be.
Anyway, let’s get this post started!
The Liebster Award:
I don’t quite know the rules for this one, but Ravenous For Reads – who tagged me – prepared some questions for me to answer so I’ll just answer them.
Do you judge a book by its cover or give the blurb the benefit of doubt?
A bit of both to be completely honest. I get pulled in by the cover and then I start reading the blurb to see if it’s something up my alley.
What are you reading at the moment?
I’m currently actively reading Remember For Me by Diana Tarant Schmidt, a book that was sent to me for review. I’m getting close to finishing it too so I’m happy about that! I also started Windwitch, the second book in the Witchlands series by Susan Dennard, but I haven’t gotten very far.
If you could only take one book with you, what would it be?
Well I got myself a kindle a few days ago so now I have access to loads of books right at my fingertips hehe. But, if I had to choose I would probably choose something I wouldn’t mind re-reading like Harry Potter.
This one is a two-part question: Favorite villain? Favorite hero?
I’m assuming that this applies to just books. Favorite villain would be Sebastian from The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. He has everything a good old-fashioned villain should have. Charisma, a hidden agenda, connection and control over the good guys.
Favorite hero would have to be Percy from the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordon. Percy is flawed and not the brightest, but realizes that and doesn’t try to be the best. Instead he’s humble and does everything in his power to vanquish evil.
What do you enjoy most about blogger?
I assume this is asking me what I like most about being a blogger? I believe I’ve answered this a million times already, but connecting with other people that love books just like I do. And also, being able to communicate with people from all over the world. It’s truly amazing!
What’s your blogging routine like?
Hahaha – well, as of right now, I kind of just write up posts between my school/sleeping schedule. Usually I carve out a period of the day when I want to take a break from whatever work I’m doing and I draft a blog post.
When did you begin your blog and where do you hope to take it?
I began my blog back in 2016, I believe. Maybe even before that? I started on Blogger, moved to Weebly for a bit and was unsatisfied with that platform so I moved myself over to WordPress in October 2016 and I’ve been here ever since! I hope to stay here and maybe self host one day? But really, I don’t have plans to self host in the near future, I’m quite happy where I am now 🙂
Tea, coffee, or cocoa?
Hardback or paperback?
I WILL NEVER TRULY BE ABLE TO ANSWER THIS QUESTION ACCURATELY BECAUSE IT’S SO HARD OKAY I REFUSE!!
*ahem* but really, my opinion on this is always changing
If you could visit anywhere in the universe, in or out of time, parallel or present, where would it be?
This is hard. To be completely honest I would want to go back in time to the roaring 20’s. A parallel universe would be cool as well!
You’re going on an epic adventure to save the world. Name two characters who would help you succeed.
With the talk of parallel universes and traveling through time, I can’t not mention the Doctor! I mean, really! The second character would have to be… probably either Hermione Granger or Luna Lovegood.
What’s your favorite word?
I was literally about to say 안녕하세요 (Annyeonghaseyo) – the Korean word for ‘Hello’. But it’s not really my favorite word? I like the way it rolls off the tongue, but also my love for the word kinda just stems from being one of the few words I can understand in K-Dramas and such without needing subtitles lol! I don’t really have a proper answer for this. I love all words.
The Entertainer Blogger Award:
I was tagged by Kat @ Life and Other Disasters to do this tag!
– Thank the person who nominated you and add a link to their blog.
– Add the rules so others can follow.
– Answer the questions that have been asked.
– Nominate a handful of entertaining bloggers.
– Display the photo also in your blog.
If you could be a character (already existing or of your own creation) in a TV show, which show would you jump into?
Honestly, I’d probably be the female lead in a K-Drama. Is considered ugly by everyone but actually beautiful? Perfect skin? At least two extremely attractive guys – one rich and the other a long-time best friend, of course – that respect me and my boundaries to choose from? A guaranteed happy ending? YES PLEASE.
Do you take notes while reading or wing your reviews?
I honestly don’t take notes. I tried but I’m so bad at reminding myself so I end up just winging it. But people still seem to like my reviews so I guess it works for me?
Who is an author you would like to get coffee/tea/drinks with?
The old me would have answered this question with J.K. Rowling, no second guess. BUt she’s kind of on my no-no list right now so I would have to go with Sandhya Menon or Maureen Goo. I met them both and so I know for a fact that I can hold up a relatively interesting conversation with them and they’re not problematic so yay bonus points for that!
Which post you’ve written are you proud of?
Gah. I don’t like these questions because I do enjoy my own posts but I’m a perfectionist when it comes to my writing so I edit my posts until they reach my unrealistically high standards so I don’t really know?? Here are a few that have gotten a lot of views/likes/comments. Seeing what a lot of people seem to like me write about makes me proud.
- Why I Love Reading Negative Reviews – this post blew up which I did not expect to happen at all when I wrote it.
- My 2018 Writing Goals – i actually shared some of my old cringey writing in this post, which I was proud of myself for plucking up the courage to do. All of y’all were so supportive of my writing and it honestly brought me close to tears.
- The Expectations of a Book Blogger – to this date, this is my most viewed/liked/commented on post.
Where would you travel if money wasn’t an issue?
SEOUL. TOKYO. LONDON. ATHENS. SPACE. (okay, maybe not space i would probably pass out before the rocket even got in the air) I would try and travel everywhere, really.
Which book are you reading next?
I plan on reading Ship It by Britta Lundin next! NetGalley granted my wish for this book and I downloaded it on my kindle the other day so I’ll be starting it once I finish my current read.
The Blogger Recognition Award 2017:
I was tagged by the wonderful Leah and Meg @ Twin Reads for this!

I started this blog because I felt alone. I was never someone that would walk up to another person and ask to hang out with them at lunch or during recess. I would sit there all alone and read. I would be the only kid on the bus that sat there and read so I stopped doing it and tried to be social like everybody else so that nobody would think I was odd. I felt out of place. But then I found the online book blogging world and I was so confused because there was this entire community of readers just like me. I felt less alone. Eventually I made my own blog and I have never felt so connected to like-minded people as I do now.
For new bloggers I recommend not comparing yourself to others and don’t change the way you present yourself to fit what you think other people will like. Be yourself and that will always be enough ❤
The Unique Blogger Award:
I got nominated for this by Priscilla @ Just Read It. Thank you for the nomination!
– Display the award

thank god there’s only three lol
What’s your favorite thing about being a book blogger?
Connecting with other bookworms and expressing my thoughts about books 🙂
How do you feel about audiobooks?
I find them very useful (being able to read while doing other things is like the ultimate dream) but I can’t do audiobooks. I’ve tried, but it’s really just not my thing.
Which literary cliche do you genuinely despise?
There are so many… I’d have to say girl-on-girl hate and when a girl abandons everything for a guy she just met. I find them both so unrealistic and they get on my nerves so much!
The Mystery Blogger Award:
Malanie @ Malanie Loves Fiction nominated me for this ❤ I think this is my second time doing this award, but I’m still excited to answer her questions!

If you had a million dollars, what would you spend it on?
2) tickets to my favorite kpop group’s concert(s)
if they ever decide to come anywhere near me smh
3) a new laptop? i’ve been in need of a new laptop for a while now haha
4) college tuition xD
5) oh, and i’d give a big chunk to my parents and grandparents, of course!
What hyped book, do you hate/dislike?
The entire Divergent series. Gosh. I can’t believe I wasted my time and money on that series.
What is your worst and best trait?
I like how this asked about my worst trait first. I’m a procrastinator… that’s probably my worst trait. But lately, I’ve been procrastinating a lot less which I’m proud of myself for. I also have zero social skills which I hate so much about myself because I do want to talk to people, it’s just so hard for me to do it.
a common misconception about antisocial beings that annoys me is that we don’t like people or don’t want to talk to people – that’s not it at all (for me, anyway, it’s different for everyone). i just can’t bring myself to start conversations and i get anxious when i’m around other people so it’s hard for me to talk to others. i try so hard because i do want to communicate with others but there’s something inside me that is always stopping me.
My best trait would probably be a physical one, and that’d be my eyes. I just really love my eyes. They’re hazel so they switch between blue and green and can sometimes even look gray! I think it’s the coolest thing.
What is the most interesting thing you’ve read this week?
This probably means book-wise, but I haven’t been reading too much recently. And I don’t read articles online much so… oh! Blog posts! I read blog posts daily.
It’s hard to choose just one interesting post that I read this week but I would have to go with Marie’s post on Feeling Validation As A Book Blogger – I found the post really interesting to read especially since I still search for validation even though I’ve been doing this for roughly 2+ years now.
If you were arrested with no explanation, what would your friends and family assume you had done?
Honestly? Nothing. They’d probably think that I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. You know those people on TV shows just chilling in a coffee shop or a park and then something explodes or someone gets shot? I’d be that person hiding under a table or the person that gets framed for committing the crime.
Three Things About Myself:
- I don’t like pickles but I like cucumbers.
- I love Korean food (I mean, I’ve eaten it once but still) but kimchi is kinda overrated in my opinion??
- I honestly don’t like sugary stuff much. I like the occasional piece of chocolate or frozen yogurt excursion as much as the next person but I don’t have a very high tolerance for sweets so one sweet thing a day is usually good enough for me.
Even though this was a long post I hope that you guys enjoyed it and if you made it to the end without skimming, I commend you. Instead of tagging anyone, feel free to answer some of the questions in the comments!
