You guys I was tagged to do the Hocus Pocus Book Tag!!! I’m so excited for this because although I’ve only seen Hocus Post once in my life – roughly two years go… wow I really need a re-watch – I really loved it. Thank you so much Flavia @ Flavia the Bibliophile for tagging me 😀
Rules:
There are no rules. It’s YOUR blog. But if would be nice if you linked back to Never Not Reading, and maybe the person who tagged you too. Share the love folks.
Feel free to use the GIFs used by Never Not Reading, the graphics made by Flavia the Bibliophile if you would like, both, or make and use your own visuals!
I actually haven’t read that many trilogies but I’d have to say The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. It took me about 1/3 of the first book to get into it and I didn’t really like Mockingjay all that much but overall it’s a solid trilogy.
The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer. Levana is the most evil villain ever! She just makes me so angry every time she shoes up on the page.
I mean, any Dr. Seuss book or Harry Potter. I always got attracted to books that had dragons and any other mythical creature on it haha.
I was going to go with The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue. BUT. Then I ran across The Amazing Book Is Not On Fire on my Goodreads shelf and remembered how silly that book was, so I’m going with that one.
I’ll have to go with Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard This book took so many things I’ve seen it loads of other YA books and tried to make them all work together but ultimately failed to do so successfully.
I probably use the same book for all questions like this, but The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. This book doesn’t glaze over the real issues African-Americans deal with and the prejudices that still overrule our society.
The Shadowhunters Chronicles by Cassandra Clare. I love the Shadowhunter world, okay, but it’s gotten to the point where Clare knows that she doesn’t have any ideas outside of this world so she just keeps coming out with new books in this world and it’s becoming too much.
Alyssa from Splintered by A.G. Howard. This girl is just really… dumb to be honest. She’s wrong about nearly everything but she doesn’t acknowledge that she’s wrong. Or at least she thinks that she’s right most all the time.
The Kane Chronicles by Rick Riordon. I’m still not over this series only having three books! I absolutely loved this series when I was younger and then he stopped after only three books and it devastated me.
The only book I can think of is I Believe In a Thing Called Love by Maurene Goo. It has a surprisingly low rating on Goodreads that I think is contributed to the amount of people that have read it but haven’t seen K-Dramas, so I feel like the rating is unfair.
Um. I don’t really understand this question… but after reading Flavia’s answer I kind of do get what the question might be asking. I don’t have any books that would fit this though… A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket might count… maybe?
I’m not 100% sure what this means, but I’m guessing it means a book with a cameo of a character from another book or a book that mentions another book in it? In that case, I’ll just choose Words In Deep Blue by Cath Crowley since there are loads of books mentioned in there.
I’m posting this a day before Halloween so I won’t be tagging anybody to do this, but I hope that y’all have a great Halloween!! And stay safe ❤

THE KANE CHRONICLES!!!! I get no end of frustration that there are continually more Greek books and no more Egyptian! I am, however, enjoying the excursion into Norse. I’m hoping that when the Greek/Norse crossover comes, Carter and Sadie somehow show up too.
Thanks for participating! Loved reading your answers. 🙂

Yes!! Me too, Egyptian mythology – although probably the strangest of them all – was SO interesting to read about!! I do hope Carter and Sadie show up again, even if it’s just a cameo in another series of his.

There was a short story where Percy and Carter were fighting the same monster. So I have hope.
