This will only be my second post for this week. I had a busy past few days and the blog posts I had in mind to write and post – well let’s just say I never got around to writing them… So. Here we are with a Down the TBR Hole post!
If you’re newer here and don’t know what the heck Down the TBR Hole is, it’s a meme created by Lia @ Lost in a Story.
Most of you probably know this feeling, your Goodreads TBR pile keeps growing and growing and it seems like there is no light at the end of the tunnel. You keep adding, but you add more than you actually read. And then when you’re scrolling through your list, you realize that you have no idea what half the books are about and why you added them. Well that’s going to change!
It works like this:
- Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
Someday, Someday, Maybe by Lauren Graham
I’m a huge Gilmore Girls fan so when I found out Lauren Graham wrote a book I added it to my TBR pile. And I also found the book in a used bookstore for really cheap so it’s all ready for me to read! I just haven’t yet haha
Final Verdict: KEEP
Talking As Fast As I Can by Lauren Graham
Added for the same reason as the last one haha. I just don’t own this one.
Final Verdict: KEEP
The Journals of Mary Shelley by Mary Shelley
I haven’t read Frankenstein yet but I want to read everything she writes because she’s my ancestor so I kind of feel like I owe it to her to read everything she’s written haha! And I like reading journals – the only one I’ve read is Anne Frank’s but I enjoyed it.
Final Verdict: KEEP
The Black Petal by Dan C. Thompson
I was going to remove this because I didn’t remember what this was about, but then I read the description and I’m actually still interested in it! It sounds really cool and there are some great reviews from bloggers I trust.
Final Verdict: KEEP
Suspended by Sarah Noffke
This sounds really cool! I added this because the description gave me a Night Circus-esque feel. And if you didn’t already know, The Night Circus is one of my all-time favorite books.
Final Verdict: KEEP
The Place Between Breathes by An Na
I absolutely loved An Na’s other book A Step From Heaven, and this comes out next year which I’m so excited for (and honestly forgot about until now – oops). It sounds really cool though.
Final Verdict: KEEP
The Vampire Stalker by Allison van Diepen
This actually sounds really cool! Okay, so basically, this girl is obsessed with this vampire dude – but he’s fictional – until he’s not and comes to life!
Final Verdict: KEEP
Love In B Minor by Elodie Nowodazkji
This kinda sounds cheesy haha. I don’t think I’d really be interested in reading this anymore.
Final Verdict: GO
Extraordinary Means by Robyn Schneider
I read her other book The Beginning of Everything and really enjoyed it. This book sounds interesting as well and I really like the cover.
Final Verdict: KEEP
The Novice by Taran Matharu
I’ve had this book nearly all year and haven’t read it yet but it sounds like a cool fantasy read and I absolutely love the cover so I’ll keep it.
Final Verdict: KEEP
Books Removed: 1
Books Kept: 9
TBR Total: 398
five more than last time cause I added some books since last week. yikes!
I loved Extraordinary Means, it made me super emotional. It isnt a long read, but I fell in love.

Yeah, there aren’t very good ratings of it, but I’m excited to read it and judge for myself

These sound good, the ones you kept anyway. I’d say you did good too, because you got rid of at least one. You’re moving on up like the Jefferson’s.

😀 That’s what made it so hard haha

It’s always hard to get rid of books and then keep some because your letting go good ones and keeping good ones. You keep good ones then you have to find the time to read them all. You get rid of good ones you have to find out where to take them. The you do it all over again. It’s a vicious cycle. 😂

I was just about to say that you didn’t let go of any books this time until that Love in B Minor book 😂 I’m really interested in reading Suspended! I haven’t read The Night Circus yet but I love anything that gives off those circus and atmospheric vibes!

Haha I knew I needed to get rid of something and Love in B Minor didn’t really seem to interest me anymore so it had to go. Me too! I keep forgetting it exists but I also love the books with circus-like vibes
