Warrior Girls

Safiya and Iseult from Truthwitch, Arya from A Song of Ice and Fire, and Clary and Isabelle from The Mortal Instruments. Safiya and Iseult are the ultimate fighting duo! They play off of each other’s strengths and weaknesses when they fight together. Arya is a young girl living in a corrupt world having to fight for her kingdom. Clary and Isabelle are Shadowhunters who slay demons one Seraph blade strike at a time.

Even though it only took like 6 books for Clary to learn  how to fight.

No I’m not bitter.

Girls Who Fight With Their Mind

Kestrel from The Winner’s Curse and Cress from The Lunar Chronicles aren’t very good in a physical fight, but don’t underestimate their wits!

Let’s not mention the fact that I didn’t like TWC and didn’t care for Kestrel at all.

Girls Who Fight With Their Heart

Scarlett from Caraval, Marguerite from A Thousand Pieces of You, and Etta from Passenger. All of these girls are driven by their heart and needing to find their family and keep them safe.

Let’s also not mention how Scarlett let herself get distracted by a GUY when she was supposed to be focused on finding her sister.

Again, not bitter.

Girls Who Are Trained Fighters

Annabeth Chase from Percy Jackson, and Alosa from Daughter of the Pirate King. Annabeth is the daughter of Athena and has been trained in Camp Half-Blood to fight monsters. Alosa is a captain of her own ship and has been brutally trained her entire life by her father, the pirate king.

No complaining here because I love these gals.

Strong Girls of Color

Dimple from When Dimple Met Rishi, Agnes from Rebels Like Us, and Starr from The Hate U Give. All of these girls fight against racial discrimination and stand up for what they believe in.

Imagine if these girls met though.

Salora from Starflight, Laia from An Ember in the Ashes, and Cassie from The 5th Wave. They all live in a world where if they don’t fight, they die.

Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games and Brienne of Tarth from A Song of Ice and Fire. Katniss is best known for her archery skills, which helped her survive the games and Brienne of Tarth is a master swords(wo)man that can beat any man in a battle.

Girls Who Don’t Conform To Gender Roles

Cath from Fangirl and Blue from The Raven Boys. Both of these girls don’t conform to the gender roles, such as wearing makeup or caring much about their appearance. They’re also strong-willed and don’t let guys step all over them.

Girls With Kick Butt Magical Powers

Adelina from The Young Elites and Hermione Granger from Harry Potter. Even though Adelina is an antihero/villain, she has some wicked cool powers, and then Hermione is – well – Hermione.

Strong Girls in Contemporary Novels

Molly from The Upside of Unrequited and Jude from I’ll Give You the Sun. I also wanted to include the girls from the POC category, but I didn’t want to re-use any characters or books.

Seriously Fierce Girls

Scarlet from The Lunar Chronicles and America from The Selection. It’s funny because both of these characters are redheads haha, but they’re definitely fierce!

Alosa from Daughter of the Pirate King is also fierce – and she’s ALSO a redhead

Most Anticipated Book With a Strong Leading Lady

This is my most anticipated book for 2018 so far. It looks so good (and I might’ve squealed just a little bit when the author followed me on not only Twitter but Instagram as well). Can we also just discuss how ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE that cover is?? AND IT’S A GIF *dies*

I requested an ARC for this book and I really hope I’m able to get one *prays to the panda god*
