Dreamy Book Covers Tag

dreamybookcovers

Hey everyone! Today I decided that I’d tackle the Dreamy Book Covers Tag, which I was tagged to do by Debbie from Debbie’s Library. I’m really excited to do this tag because who doesn’t love a beautiful book cover?

Rules:

  • Thank the lovely person who tagged you, spread the love!
  • Menton Tiana @ The Book Raven as the creator of this book tag!
  • Use the original tag image in your post. (However, Feel free to add whatever other graphics your heart desires!)
  • At least tag 1 fellow blogger for this tag. Even if your like me sometimes and feel a bit lazy

“No Ideas But In Things” A book cover that perfectly expresses the novel inside

This post already requires more thought than I firstly anticipated. I could honestly go with any graphic novel for this one since the artwork on the cover is usually the same as on the inside.

Splintered-Series-1024x380

I instead went with the Splintered series by A.G. Howard. This series stems from Alice in Wonderland, which is very whimsical and vibrant with all sorts of colors, and I think these covers match perfectly with the whimsy and vibrancy you find in the story.

“Dark and Lovely” A book cover that is so creepalicious you just want to eat it up

a_madness_so_discreetWell, that’s an odd choice of words, but I’ll have to go with A Madness So Discreet by Mindy McGinnis. This cover made me think that this book was going to be eerie a creepy, but it really wasn’t. The cover is stunning, though, and it really gets you in the spooky mood, for sure.

“Sugary Sweet” A cute cover that is so fluffy you want to give it a hug

Uh… I don’t keleanor_and_parknow! Some contemporary, I guess. Oh! I know! I chose to go with Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell for this one. The cover and the characters and story are all so fluffy and cute I just want to give it all a hug.

“The Simple Aesthetic” A book cover that stuns with the most minimalistic of design

red_queen

You see, I don’t really like this book, but the cover is so simple but so beautiful. I think all of the covers for this series are simply stunning because they’re minimalistic, but they still reel the reader in. The red blood on a white backdrop is a great color scheme as well.

“Cover Envy” A book cover you wish you had on your shelves, but don’t yet

There are literally too many to name. I haven’t properly gone book shopping is so long so there are a lot of books (with stunning covers, might I add) that I’d love on my shelves but I just don’t have. Here are a few of them:

“Traveling Abroad” A beautiful book cover featuring a country outside of your own

I could seriously go with Harry Potter for this one, but I won’t. Instead I’ll go with The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer since I’m reading Cress at the moment (and loving it!) And they all have really beautiful covers.

“The Color Wheel” A cover that showcases one of your favorite colors

fangirl

Oh look! It’s the other Rainbow Rowell book! Green is my favorite color, but this greenish-blueish color is so pretty! The copy I have is more green, though, but I do still love it!

“Switching Gears” A cover change you absolutely adore

This one is difficult, as most cover changes aren’t that good. There are some, like for all of the Shadowhunters books that I do like, but I can never find the original covers for anymore (which is what I own The Mortal Instruments series in) so then I don’t like it as much because I wouldn’t be able to complete my collection. But I do like their newer covers more than the old ones. But also, the UK editions are BEAUTIFUL, I’ll add them in just for a little extra credit.

“Oldie but Goodie” A favorite cover of your favorite classic

I don’t read all a_tree_grows_in_Brooklynthat many classics, but I would have to say my favorite classic would have to be A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith. I do like the cover I own, but I also don’t know what other covers are out there. I did find this one to the left, though, through a Google search and I think it’s really cute. I think I may like it more than the cover I have because this one has a lot of colors on it while mine is mainl just brown and orange.

“And the Winner is…” Which book cover mentioned above is your favorite?

Yikes! Plot twist! I didn’t know we had to pick a favorite! These covers are all truly beautiful, but I’d have to go with Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor because not only is the cover beautiful, but there are sprayed pages! Let me see if I can find a picture…

strange_the_dreamer

See! Isn’t it stunning???? This is definitely the winner for me. The U.S. cover is pretty and all that, but this cover (the U.K. cover) is absolutely gorgeous! I don’t know what this book is really about, but a lot of people have been raving about it, and honestly I’d buy it solely to own this beauty.

I Tag:

I decided to actually tag someone this time! Shocker, right?

I tag Lia from Lost in a Story!

As always, you don’t have to do this tag if you don’t want to, and even if I didn’t tag you, feel free to do this tag as well!

I hope y’all enjoyed this post! What are some of your favorite book covers? Let me know!

lots-of-love

  2. I really enjoyed reading this post! I love pretty book covers – you know a creepy book cover that is still beautiful that came to my mind? Desperation by Stephen King 🙂

  3. Thanks for the tag! I’m still torn between the US and the UK cover of Strange the Dreamer, I love them both! I can’t wait to read it, it sounds so good (and of course it’s by Laini Taylor so it can’t be anything but amazing)!

    1. I was in love with the US one until I saw the UK one. They’re both beautiful. I actually haven’t read a book by Laini Taylor but I do own one of them.

      1. I think I’m leaning more towards the US cover, I like the blue and yellow 🙂
