Hello wonderful readers! Today is Friday, which means it’s time for Hype or Like Friday. If you don’t already know, Hype or Like Friday is a Goodreads group created by Jill @ Rant and Rave About Books, Britt @ Geronimo Reads, and Larkin @ Wonderfilled Reads. You can check out the Goodreads group by clicking the description below.
So this week’s topic is all about Valentine’s Day. Today I will be listing the top 5 book characters that I would want to be my Valentine. Now, let’s get on with it.
Rules:
- Answer the weekly discussion topic.
- Optional: Discuss your chosen hyped book of the week.
- Optional: Talk about your progress on the BOTM.
Park from Eleanor & Park
While everybody else will probably be choosing the hunks with toned abs and a razor-sharp jawline, I’m going to choose the nerdy and awkward Park Sheridan from Eleanor & Park. He is seriously the most adorable, kind, and loyal guy you could ever possibly ask for. He’s funny and he’s sweet and he will make you feel special.
Fred Weasley from Harry Potter
Sorry, George! I’ve just always had a thing for Fred. I don’t know why, but I’ve always kind of had a crush on Fred Weasley. He’s funny but he’s also brave and is loyal to those that mean the world to him. And he’d keep things interesting as well, giving me odd gifts and whatnot.
Maxon Schreave from The Selection
Who wouldn’t want a freaking Prince? Not any prince, but Prince Maxon from The Selection series. Maxon isn’t shallow or anything you might expect a Prince to be. Instead he’s kind and compassionate and does his best to understand your needs and wants (as well as things you don’t like/want). Plus, he’s an expert in the romance department (I mean he was technically dating like 34 girls at once).
Prince Kai from The Lunar Chronicles
Kai is the second Asian and Prince on this list, funny enough. Kai is a Just and loyal leader to his country and he does the best he can to protect those that he cares about, while still making the decisions to save his country. He’s also not stuck-up and doesn’t care if you’re different than everybody else.
Anubis from The Kane Chronicles
Anubis might be the God of Funerals, but that doesn’t mean he is dead on the inside. He cares about people and will do anything to protect those he loves. He also has the powers of a God which is wicked awesome. And it doesn’t hurt that he’s cute.
BOTM Progress:
I read a bit more of this book since last week, but not all that much. I’m 82 pages in the book, which means I’m 20% done. I’m starting to like it more. I’m going to be participating in Owlcrate-a-thon, which is a readathon hosted by Owlcrate and it’ll be a 2-week-long readathon where I’ll try and read 3-5 books.
– Have you read this month’s BOTM? Did you like it or hype it? Let me know in the comments!
I don’t know why, but I find it so funny you have a favourite Weasley twin! Love them so much!

Well I don’t like it when people identify them as one character. Although they’re twins, they’re still individual people.

This post is so accurate lol! Fred and George are obviously more of side characters, but somehow they totally are everyone’s favorite!

They’re side characters, but they are just so lovable.
